parafono records is a new independent jazz/world record label based in the U.K. formed by Nat Birchall and Kostas Voultsidis.
In 2013, renowned british jazz saxophonist and composer Nat Birchall was invited to bring his quintet to Kostas Voultsidis’ jazz club in Larissa, Greece, resulting in the critically acclaimed live album “Live In Larissa” Over the years a strong friendship developed between the two and now they are about to launch the Parafono Records label with the aim of releasing musical treasures and collaborative projects from Greece and the broader meditteranean region. Album releases are planned which include a unique sextet recording, “Live In Athens” showcasing a meeting of the Nat Birchall Quartet and two highly regarded Greek musicians, ney player Harris Lambrakis and drummer Nikos Sidirokastritis. Plus a Harris Lambrakis Quartet recording “Lafina” and a long awaited re-release of the Nat Birchall Quintet “Live In Larissa” album.”

Nat Birchall, born in 1957 in the hill country of North-West England, where he still lives, is a saxophonist since 1979
Hailed by Gilles Peterson as “one of the best musicians in the UK”, saxophonist Nat Birchall remains one of the UK’s hidden jazz treasures. Playing tenor and soprano saxophones, he is a band leader, composer and arranger ( and occasional DJ ) who has grabbed listeners attention with his soulful sound and inspirational spiritual music.
Kostas Voultsidis, born in 1970 in Larissa Greece
Playing tenor and soprano saxophones studied jazz music in athenaeum music conservatory and then moved to New York
On 2009 created his jazz bar in Larissa called Duende and worked there up to 2017 when he made his decision to leave.
